Even when we're at home, it can be difficult to fit going to the gym into our schedules. Traveling makes it even harder to find time to go to they gym.
When you're on vacation, it's all about taking a break and relaxing, but that doesn't mean you should stop focusing on your physical health. Take a break from the stresses of everyday life and have a good time, but remember to throw in at least 10 minutes of daily exercise. You may find that while on vacation, it's easier to work out.
Here are 5 simple exercises you can try when you're traveling:
The easiest exercise you can do, regardless of where you go, is walking. Consider taking a walk to your next tourist attraction, or if it's too far, take a walk around after you get out of the car. Consider walking early in the mornings to take in the sights and scenery before it gets overcrowded. If you're visiting a city, it can be a lot easier to walk everywhere, and often times, more convenient than traveling by car.
Stair climbing is great for heart health and physical strength. This is an exercise that can easily be done indoors or outdoors. Many locations have monuments or parks that have stairs. If you can't find an area that does, check out your hotel; they most likely have stairs. It's also conveniently located right next to your room, so you don't have to go out of your way to exercise!
It can be fun and exciting to incorporate different and new exercises. Try things you might not have done if you weren't visiting a specific location.
In Dubai, you can visit the largest zipline park with 85 obstacles, or if you’re visiting Latin America, give Tango a shot to get your heart pumping and body moving!
For a lower-impact exercise, you can always visit the hotel pool for a few laps that can provide you with a full-body workout. You can take it to the next level by visiting the beach. Running through the water with the sand resistance will create an even more intense workout.
Places like Berlin or Girona are known to be some amazing places to bike. You’ll be able to take in the beautiful sights while getting in your daily exercise. Of course, be sure that the distance isn't too long or difficult. Only do what you feel comfortable doing.
When traveling, many hotels have 24/7 gyms that you can use, but I recommend exercising outdoor so you can make the most of your vacation. Wherever you decide to exercise, be sure to stay safe and enjoy the scenery!
